FAQ's

Why did the bees pick my place to hive?

The natural habitats of bees are rapidly declining; any empty pot or hollow structure is a potential hiving area.

Can I leave the swam there?

Beehives that are docile at first can change in a second. A leaf blowing into the entrance at the wrong time or a dog’s bark can set them off. This can affect everybody around you!

I had a swam removed in the same spot before, and now they are back?

The beekeeper needs to inform you about bees re-hiving in the spot. We advise on treatments and give tips on how to prevent this tendency.

What does a queen look like?

The queen hatches from the same egg as a worker bee but only lives from royal jelly which is secreted by the young bees. The queen looks similar to the worker bee but has a longer abdomen due to the ability to lay up to 2000 eggs a day.
